Bioinformatics (or Computational Biology) is a recent area resulting mainly from the intersection of Computational Science with Biology and Medicine. Bioinformatics allows a systematic and large scale study of diverse basic biological processes or those related to pathologies. The Bioinformatics group at the Instituto Sírio-Libanês de Ensino e Pesquisa was created in June 2011 with the main goal as first quality research in the field of bioinformatics focusing on genomics and transcriptomics of normal or pathological biological models, mainly cancer related. At the present moment, our group relies on a team of researchers, students and technicians with diverse and multidisciplinary background. We also have good collaborations with research groups in Brazil and abroad. More details about our group, our members and our main research projects can be found in this website or by contacting us directly.
